Concept Design

These galleries contain sketches and ideas originating from scripts and written material as well as ideas straight from brainstorms . With some more established properties there is usually a supply of reference material and in those cases the special challenge is to create additional designs for a previously established world . Care has to be taken in stop-motion and CG design to remember that "sets" , "props" , and even characters are literally built . In these situations a sense of precise scale is more relevant than , for instance , in hand-drawn "2D" animation . Although I have supervised design work in studio situations many times , this gallery is for art that was originated prior to an actual production schedule .
